After ‘Jackmanii’, this must be the best known of the large-flowered hybrids. Derived from Clematis lanuginosa, it bears in early summer large flat flowers, pale pink with a deeper pinkish stripe in the center of each of its 8 petals. Grow in a partly shaded position that receives morning sun. It will reach up to 15 ft (4.5 m) and is very frost hardy.
